Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Rocio Valdovinos.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Pulmonary Thromboembolism

Cause of Death B: Deep Vein Thrombosis

Pulmonary embolism is a leading cause of sudden, unexpected death, especially in younger people with obesity.

Obesity can slow down blood flow and increase pressure in the veins, making it easier for clots to form—often in the legs, a condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT). If these clots break free, they can travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and block blood flow, which can be fatal.
