The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ricardo Monroy of Lawndale, California, and listed his race as Caucasian.

Cause of Death: Drowning
Other Significant Conditions: Cardiomegaly, Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes Mellitus Type 2, History of Chronic Alcohol Use

According to the video, Ricardo Flemming Monroy was of Latino descent — half Mexican, half Ecuadorian. He apparently was a swimmer, even working as a lifeguard.
