(L.A.) Renee Rodriguez, 51, Died in Prison

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Latino male that occurred at a prison/correctional facility.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Renee Rodriguez.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Sharp-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 7:53 p.m.
The decedent was a convicted rapist. He was killed by fellow inmate Kenneth Wilson at California State Prison, Los Angeles County, in Lancaster. The attack happened at around 7:15 p.m. in the dayroom of the prison.
Rodriguez had been sentenced in 2001 when he was about 28 years old. While incarcerated, he was convicted twice of possession/manufacture of a deadly weapon.
Wilson, 30 years of age and imprisoned in Lancaster since 2020 for first-degree murder, carried out the attack on Rodriguez using improvised weapons.
Kenneth Michael Wilson was born on September 26, 1994, in Riverside County.
