(L.A.) Perry Kurtz, 73, Died in a Hit-and-Run

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 73-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Perry Kurtz.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries

RIP PERRY KURTZ (February 5, 1951 – August 15, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:30 p.m.

The comedian was crossing at an intersection in Tarzana when he was struck by a car being driven by a teen.

From LAPD’s press release: “A gray Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard when it struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking across Ventura Boulevard east of Corbin Avenue… The pedestrian was thrown into an easterly direction before colliding with the roadway. The Honda continued eastbound failing to stop, identify self, or render aid as required by law.”

The LAPD has since arrested and booked an 18-year-old male on a charge of felony hit-and-run causing death.
