(L.A.) Pedro Montelongo, 24, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 24-year-old Latino male on a street in in Canoga Park.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Pedro Montelongo.

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

RIP PEDRO MONTELONGO (May 13, 1999 – January 7, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 1:00 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured in a car crash, along with 23-year-old Kimberley Ayala Rodriguez.

L.A. Fire Department said the accident happened at around 12:45 a.m. in the 7600 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Three vehicles collided at the intersection due to unknown circumstances. Pedro Montelongo and Kimberley Rodriguez became trapped in the wreckage; both of them died at the scene before they could be extricated.

Two others who were seriously injured were transported by LAFD paramedics to a regional trauma center. Another two individuals sustained minor injuries; both declined an ambulance to take them to a hospital.
