Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Hispanic male that occurred on a sidewalk.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Oscar Lopez, resident of West Adams Boulevard in the 90018.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease
Other Significant Conditions: Chronic Alcohol Use; Acute Alcohol Intoxication

This was ruled an accident instead of a natural death (heart disease), likely because it was the excessive alcohol consumption that precipitated the death. The man basically drank himself to death.
Alcohol deaths can be classified as accidents under the assumption that the sots didn’t intend to kill themselves.
