Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

RIP OSCAR ARMANDO LOPEZ AGUILAR (August 20, 2002 – March 27, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 6:04 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured while riding his e-skateboard to work. He was hit by a vehicle in the area of 6th & Catalina. The four-door sedan was northbound on Catalina Street and was making a left turn onto Sixth — the skateboarder was traveling at a high speed southbound across 6th when the collision happened; the restaurant worker apparently did not bother to pause or slow down his board before initiating the cross, expecting the crosswalk to be a wide-open clear field for skateboarders.

On March 27 at 7:00 p.m., LAPD arrested Ukrainian national Fedir Iatsenko for the hit-and-run. Bail was set at 50,000 dollars. 25CJCF0169801
