(L.A.) Minah Awad, 34, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Minah Awad.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Leg

RIP MINAH SAMEH AWAD (June 22, 1988 – June 3, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 10:30 p.m.

The government investigator had initially posted the decedent’s race/ethnicity as “White/Caucasian” but then subsequently removed the designation. His name suggests he was of Egyptian descent, and there are a Bible verse and what appear to be Coptic Christian letters on his gravestone at Forest Lawn.

Incident location was the Arco at 1040 East Holt Ave, Pomona, CA 91767, by Loranne Avenue.

Pomona Police Department has jurisdiction over this case.
