(L.A.) Michael Lopez, 55, Died in a Parking Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Latino male that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Lopez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Conditions: History of Diabetes Mellitus and Chronic Tobacco Use

RIP MICHAEL LOPEZ (February 4, 1969 – October 26, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 5:33 a.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that the government investigator had initially given the place of death as an apartment, later changing it to parking lot.
