(L.A.) Mermaidia Fairytopia, 34, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Mermaidia Fairytopia.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Acute Quetiapine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 8:07 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 29, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug. Quetiapine, sold under the brand name Seroquel among others, is an atypical antipsychotic medication used for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and major depressive disorder.

 
This is quite a strange name. We can say definitively that the decedent could not have been born with this name. There has to be a record of a name change in the courts.

The coroner-investigator assigned to this case is Deanne Morrell and the deputy medical examiner is Dr. Brice L. Hunt.
