(L.A.) Mercedes Hardy Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a female that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office identified the individual as Mercedes Hardy and listed her race/ethnicity as Hispanic/Latino + Black.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Intrauterine Fetal Demise
Other Significant Condition: Maternal Drug Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 6:58 p.m.
It was on March 6 that the government investigator provided the decedent’s forename+surname as Mercedes Cruz Hardy. By March 15, this had been changed to simply Mercedes Hardy.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 21. This death is considered an accidental drug overdose.
She was a twin of Marcela. The two babies died because of their mother’s abuse of drugs.
