(L.A.) Melvin Salgado, 37, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Melvin Salgado.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made late Saturday night.

LAPD said the decedent was hit by a speeding dark-colored Jeep Wrangler at around 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of 36th Street and Fifth Avenue.

In an online fundraiser, his family referred to the victim as Melvin Blanco of El Salvador.
