Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred in a vehicle.
The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Melissa Van Hoorne.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 7:13 a.m.
The decedent was the driver killed in a collision in the Lancaster area that involved her car and a school bus.
Video description: A traffic collision involving a school bus and SUV left one person dead at the scene in Lancaster early Friday morning.
Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the 1700 block of West Columbia Way shortly after 7 a.m. for a reported traffic collision.
Due to the involvement of the school bus, sheriff’s deputies requested assistance from the California Highway Patrol.
One person was confirmed deceased at the scene. There were no children aboard the school bus.
