(L.A.) Matthew Hemmendinger, 27, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 27-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Matthew Hemmendinger.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl, Cocaine, Tramadol, Mitragynine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:56 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 2, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.

Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
