(L.A.) Mathew Poss, 43, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Mathew Poss.

Hair: Blonde / Eyes: Blue

Height: 6 feet 4 inches / Weight: 160 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Mixed Drug Intoxication (Fentanyl, Amphetamines, Benzodiazepines)

RIP MATHEW POSS (January 23, 1982 – December 13, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

This was classified as an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.

Note that this case remains open at the Department of Medical Examiner and has not yet been finalized.

The government investigator indeed spelled the decedent’s name as Mathew, and not the common spelling Matthew.

Matthew Dorian Poss had multiple arrests for drug offenses going back to the year 2006. He had been listed as transient for at least 10 years.
