(L.A.) Martell Wyrick, 79, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 79-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Martell Wyrick.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use

RIP MARTELL WYRICK (May 20, 1945 – February 23, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 12:23 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late April, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
