(L.A.) Mark Neiger, 48, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mark Neiger.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Citalopram, Clonazepam, Hydrocodone and Baclofen

Other Significant Conditions: Medical History of Hypertension and Bipolar Disorder

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 2, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.

Baclofen, sold under the brand name Lioresal among others, is a medication used to treat muscle spasticity such as from a spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis. It may also be used for hiccups and muscle spasms near the end of life, and off-label to treat alcohol use disorder or opioid withdrawal symptoms.
