(L.A.) Marina Miller, 80, Died From Meth

Case Number: 2024-04789

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 80-year-old Black female that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Marina Miller.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP MARINA MILLER (December 29, 1943 – March 20, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 12:18 p.m.

The government investigator noted that the decedent had a history of ethanol abuse and possible unspecified dementia.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the meth. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.

This may be the oldest female death from meth that the county has ever seen. The oldest man to die from recreational meth abuse that we know of was 85 years old.
