(L.A.) Maria Ortiz Romero, 36, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Maria Ortiz Romero.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Influenza A

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 12:35 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-April, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
