Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 98-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Maria Merino Calderon.

Manner of Death: Natural Accident

Cause of Death A: Intracranial Hemorrhage

Cause of Death B: Blunt Force Traumatic Head Injury

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP MARIA MERINO CALDERON (October 6, 1924 – July 13, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 10:42 a.m.

By the morning of July 27, the medical examiner had changed the manner of death from natural to accidental.
