(L.A.) Manuel Cano, 45, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Manuel Cano.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Methamphetamine Intoxication

Other Significant Conditions: Chronic Psychoactive Substance Use Disorder, Paranoid Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Chronic Kidney Disease

RIP MANUEL CANO (1980 – August 30, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 20, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
