(L.A.) Maleesa Mooney, 31, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Black female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Maleesa Mooney.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Homicidal Violence

RIP MALEESA MOONEY (October 16, 1991 – September 12, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 4:25 p.m.

The decedent was found dead inside her apartment in the 200 block of South Figueroa Street in downtown L.A. She was the sister of Guyanese pop singer Jourdin Pauline.

According to the autopsy report, Maleesa Mooney’s body found inside the refrigerator. Her ankles and wrists were bound.

In February 2024, LAPD detectives identified 41-year-old Magnus Daniel Humphrey of Hopkins, Minnesota, as her alleged killer.
