Bupropion, sold under the brand name Wellbutrin, is an antidepressant primarily used to treat major depressive disorder and to support smoking cessation.

The FDA has required a black-box warning on bupropion regarding the potential increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in young people.

There have been reports that bupropion is the worst antidepressant for treating suicidal behaviors and may even play a part in increasing suicidal tendencies among users.
