The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on September 12.

Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol, is a widely used over-the-counter medication for pain relief and fever reduction. It is metabolized in the liver. In normal doses, it is safely processed and eliminated. However, excessive doses overwhelm the liver’s capacity.

Acute liver failure occurs when the liver suddenly loses its ability to function, leading to a rapid decline in liver function.

Acetaminophen overdose is one of the leading causes of acute liver failure.

Death from acute liver failure due to acetaminophen overdose occurs when excessive intake overwhelms the liver’s ability to metabolize the drug, leading to severe liver damage and loss of liver function.

Here are a few brand names for acetaminophen in the United States: Tylenol, Excedrin, Panadol, Feverall, Anacin-3
