(L.A.) Lee Neilson Died on a Shoreline

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a White/Caucasian male that occurred on the Alamitos Beach shoreline.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Lee Neilson.

STATUS: The decedent’s body is ready to be released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

If the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take six to nine months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

The Long Beach Police Department initially responded to reports of a body in the water around 11:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of East Ocean Boulevard. Authorities found the decedent face down near the water’s edge, close to the Pride lifeguard tower.
