Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Black female that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office identified the woman as Lavona Graham.

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made early Thursday morning.
The decedent was hit by a vehicle as she was crossing a street in South L.A.
LAPD responded to Manchester and Vermont avenues at 12:52 a.m.
Witnesses said the vehicle had been traveling west on Manchester Avenue, right by Saint Michael’s Church.

Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run In South LA
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on April 30, 2026, officers responded to a fatal hit-and-run near Manchester Avenue and Vermont Avenue in South Los Angeles.
A woman was struck by a vehicle in front of a church and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver involved fled the area, and authorities are actively investigating the incident.
At least one witness said the woman was using a cane.
