(L.A.) Larry Brown, 61, Died in SRO Housing

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence on South San Pedro Street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Larry Brown, resident of the Gateways Apartment Building in the Skid Row section of DTLA 90013.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 2:12 p.m.

His body was found lifeless inside his unit on the 6th floor, #611.

Opened in 2013, the Gateways Apartments is new construction. Each of the 108 studio apartments feature a kitchenette and full bathroom. There are 107 units that are supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals and receive rental subsidies. One unit is for an on-site resident manager.

It is Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Housing.
