(L.A.) Lanny Tapp, 56, Died in Harbor City

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 56-year-old Black male that occurred in a lake in Harbor City.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Lanny Tapp.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Horsley.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Congestive Heart Failure

Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Severe Cardiomegaly

RIP LANNY TAPP (November 22, 1967 – January 9, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 4:22 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on March 28.

The decedent’s body was discovered in Machado Lake at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park.

L.A. Fire Department responded to 25999 South Normandie Avenue at around 4:10 p.m. for a water rescue. They found the man unresponsive in the lake.
