(L.A.) Lamar Maxwell, 65, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old Black male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Lamar Maxwell.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt Force Traumatic Injuries

RIP LAMAR MAXWELL (October 10, 1958 – January 3, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 5:36 a.m.

The decedent was walking in the eastbound lanes on the Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach when he was hit from behind by a vehicle. It happened before the sun had risen.

Cher Srey, 55, of Long Beach, initially fled but later turned herself in at the Signal Hill Police Department, according to the LB Police Department.

Srey was taken to Long Beach City Jail, where she was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and released.
