Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Caucasian female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Kylie James.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Amlodipine Toxicity

RIP KYLIE JAMES (September 23, 1982 – January 17, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:25 p.m.

Amlodipine is in a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump as hard. It controls chest pain by increasing the supply of blood to the heart.
