The coroner’s office has identified the man as Kenneth Latorre.

On May 16, 2025, there was a fatal incident involving a person who climbed the suspension cables of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro and jumped. The incident was reported at 10:33 a.m., and the bridge was shut down in both directions, causing significant traffic delays in the San Pedro and Terminal Island areas. The Los Angeles Fire Department and L.A. Port Police responded, recovering the deceased individual from the water.
