(L.A.) Kelly Calderon, 28, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Kelly Calderon.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries

RIP KELLY CALDERON (January 12, 1997 – April 8, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:14 a.m.

It was at 12:02 a.m. that LAPD officers were called to the 9600 block of Figueroa Street and West Colden Avenue in South L.A. There, they learned that a vehicle was traveling north on Figueroa at a high rate of speed when it hit a pedestrian, who was crossing the street.

The vehicle’s driver fled without rendering aid, making this incident a hit-and-run crime.

* Update: The victim was on a scooter, which is not considered a motor vehicle in the state.
