(L.A.) Karen Briggs, 56, Died From a Heart Issue

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 56-year-old Black female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Karen Briggs.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP KAREN BRIGGS (August 27, 1967 – July 2, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 7, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.

This was either a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or cardiac arrest.
