Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred at her residence in Torrance

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Joyce Carver.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death A: Manual Strangulation

Cause of Death B: Neck Fracture

RIP JOYCE ELAINE CARVER (October 11, 1957 – July 3, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 6:53 p.m.

Officers of the Torrance Police Department were dispatched about 6:30 p.m. to the 24200 block of Walnut Street regarding a suspicious death, and they found the decedent dead inside a home.

One adult individual was arrested for murder, and a second adult was arrested for being an accessory after the fact.
