(L.A.) Jovany Chapela, 33, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 33-year-old male of Hispanic/Latin American ethnicity that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jovany Chapela.

STATUS: The decedent’s body has been released. Ruling is deferred pending additional investigation.

Because the deputy medical examiner has ordered toxicology tests, the next public update could take six months.

Manner and cause of death have not yet been disclosed by authorities; the information will be added to this page when it becomes available.
