The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joshua Fuqua.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:06 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 15, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

While many skin abscesses resolve without severe consequences, facial abscesses pose unique risks due to their proximity to critical structures like the airway and major blood vessels.
