(L.A.) Joseph Stevens, 27, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 27-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joseph Stevens.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine (Clinical)

RIP JOSEPH STEVENS (October 5, 1996 – July 31, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 10:38 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 23.

The use of the word “clinical” may be implying that the DME didn’t actually have the department order a tox screening to be done. It may have already been in the decedent’s medical or other records that he was using fentanyl and meth.

Note that the county’s death records has two individuals named “Joseph Stevens” who died at the age of 27. The other one died in October 2023, from meth.
