Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Hispanic individual that occurred at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The coroner’s office identified the non-binary person as Jose Morales, resident of Overland Avenue in the 90034.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Covid-19

Other Significant Condition: End-Stage Renal Disease, Diabetes Mellitus

RIP JOSE MORALES (August 15, 1979 – March 25, 2020)

 
The decedent appears to have the distinction of being the first person in the coroner’s records to be explicitly listed as non-binary.

Note though that there are multiple decedents named “Jose Morales” in public records.
