Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Monsalve Rojas, a native of Colombia.

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 6:18 a.m.

The decedent was a bicyclist who was fatally injured by a vehicle during a police chase in the South Los Angeles area. He lived on 46th Street, just half a block from where he was killed.

The accident happened at around 6:10 a.m., following a brief pursuit that led to Hooper Avenue and 46th Street, where the vehicle being pursued crashed and overturned.
