Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 79-year-old Filipino male that occurred at Glendale Galleria.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Mariano, resident of Eagle Rock Boulevard in the 90041.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Head Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 4:12 p.m.

In September 2023, the decedent’s sister received a settlement from the owners of the shopping center. There was no mention in mainstream media outlets that the medical examiner had ruled this a suicide.
