Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 71-year-old male of Latin American ethnicity that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Garcia.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Cardiopulmonary Arrest

Cause of Death B: Hypotension

Cause of Death C: Hydralazine Administration Post-Surgery

Other Significant Conditions: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease, Hypertension, and Diabetes Mellitus

Hydralazine is a direct vasodilator used orally and intravenously to rapidly reduce blood pressure in hypertensive urgency or emergency. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow through the body more easily, helping prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
