The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Contreras Santa Cruz.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Acute Cardiac Dysfunction

Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP JOSE CONTRERAS SANTA CRUZ (January 5, 1953 – February 27, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 8:39 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 25.

This was either a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or cardiac arrest.
