(L.A.) John Simmons, 65, Died in a Hotel/Shelter

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old Black male that occurred in a hotel/shelter.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Simmons.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Cocaine, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP JOHN SIMMONS (February 11, 1958 – December 7, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:45 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 10, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental overdose.
