(L.A.) John Mendez, 46, Died at a Residence ❄️

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Latino male that occurred at his place of residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Mendez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl, Cocaine, Ketamine, and Ethanol

RIP JOHN JUAN MENDEZ (August 14, 1977 – January 18, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 1:54 p.m.

The following three persons were all pronounced dead at the same time:

  • John Mendez – own residence
  • Simone Ling – own residence
  • Jose Vasquez – private residence (not his residence)

Opiod mass-overdose events, characterized as three or more overdoses occurring close in time and at the same location, have happened more frequently across the country this past year.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on March 27, after the results of the tox panel had come back from the lab.
