Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 77-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Mattoon.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Human Metapneumovirus Infection

RIP JOHN MATTOON (August 22, 1947 – April 19, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 10:50 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on June 3.
