(L.A.) John Gilmore, 40, Died in a Canyon

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a canyon.

The coroner’s office identified the man as John Gilmore.

Manner of Death : Accident

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

RIP JOHN GILMORE (1985 – May 22, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

UPDATE: On June 4, the Department of Medical Examiner changed its initial conclusion that this was an accident. As it turned out, the decedent had decided to take his own life.
