(L.A.) John Correa, 59, Died in the Ocean

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in the ocean.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Correa of Long Beach.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

RIP JOHN CORREA (March 28, 1965 – July 3, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.

The decedent was fatally injured when the boat he was on hit the jetty at the entrance to Alamitos Bay.

He was among at least ten people aboard the boat 4 Kings when it crashed into the rock jetty at around 9:20 p.m. as it returned from a social gathering on the water that had lasted a few hours.
