(L.A.) Jewell Mavi, 22, Died in a Vacant Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 22-year-old Black female that occurred in a vacant lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Jewell Mavi.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Acetyl Fentanyl, Fentanyl, and Methamphetamine

RIP JEWELL MAVI (May 13, 2000 – March 13, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:30 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 10, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental overdose.
