Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jesus Portillo.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries

///// Hit-and-run driver kills man trying to help loose dog in Mission Hills /////

A man was fatally injured by a hit-and-run driver in Mission Hills Sunday evening.

The man was walking in the roadway on Devonshire Street near the intersection with Woodman Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. when he was hit by a car. He was attempting to help a loose dog that was crossing Devonshire Street when he was hit by the vehicle.

That vehicle, a light-colored sedan, did not stop, and the driver did not assist the man or identify themselves.
