(L.A.) Jessica Flores, 37, Died in Pacoima

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a street in Pacoima.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Jessica Flores.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday night.

The decedent was hit by a pickup truck as she was crossing the street in the 12600 block of Branford Street, near Laurel Canyon Boulevard, in a dark industrial area of Pacoima.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly after 9:00 p.m.

She and her boyfriend were crossing Branford Street outside of a marked crosswalk when a white pickup truck struck her. Her boyfriend was uninjured.

A 33-year-old male driver remained at the scene and was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
